The IPPH Laboratory, led by Dr. Kibriya and his team, ensures that COMPASS samples are processed in a manner that facilitates lots of different types of research. After the samples are collected, they go to the IPPH Lab where they are then processed and aliquotted into even smaller tubes that are preserved in freezers for future investigation. This includes the consideration of genetics and environmental exposures, as well as other factors like immune function, hormone status, or even to accommodate technologies that are yet to exist.
The IPPH Laboratory takes their work very seriously and ensures that all samples are treated as though they are precious and may offer insight into the causes of cancer and other chronic diseases and prevention opportunities. The Lab is an integral part of the COMPASS workflow and the Lab Team is, well, pretty awesome.
